To the parents of Pack 494
Saturday, 17 November 2007
To the parents of Pack 494,

We have an immediate need to fill three vital positions within the pack
committee.  Karen Mapes, has done a superb job as our secretary and will
be leaving the pack in two months when her son Tyler moves on to the Boy
Scout program.  In addition, Julie Horton has done a remarkable job
getting our pack finances in order as the pack treasurer.  She and her
son Jason are moving to another pack on the other side of town.  Rob
Bell is also graduating with his son, which leaves the pack website
stagnant until someone picks up where he left off.  They now leave the
positions of secretary, treasurer, and webmaster vacant. It is vital to
the organization that these positions be filled by you, the parents of
the pack.  The job description is as follows:

Treasurer - Manage the pack finances, maintain the pack checking
account, attend the monthly committee meeting and prepare a financial
statement for the committee meeting.

Secretary - Take notes at the monthly pack committee meeting, prepare
the notes and distribute them to the leaders for distribution to the
pack and webmaster

Webmaster - Keep the pack website and E-calendar up to date and make the
pack 494 website look great

As new committee members, you do not have to fear that you are taking
this position blindly, The current committee members will gladly spend
the time with you to get you up to speed how each job needs to be
performed.  We have been asking for volunteers to step up into the
committee, but now the time is up.  These positions need to be filled
NOW.  Don't let the pack fall apart because you can't take the little
bit of time to help your sons program.  It really is only a few hours a
month to make the difference.

Please email or call Gerry Kasman directly if you would like more
information or are interested  in the position.

Camp Three Falls
Sunday, 23 September 2007
This is my first year being a part of the Cub Scouts/Webelos. So far, the thing I have enjoyed the most is when me and my dad went camping for 2 days at Camp Three Falls with the scouts. We had to unpack and set up our tent. After that, we went for a hike, which was alot of fun but very long. I learned how to shoot a BB gun and how to do Archery. My dad said I have a very good aim. At nighttime, we roasted marshmallows around a campfire. In the morning, my friends and I helped make breakfast for everyone. We had to cut potatoes. It was hard work but they were delicious. After breakfast we had a big water fight. All of us got soaked but I think I got it the worst. We then packed our stuff and went home. THAT WAS A VERY FUN WEEKEND!!!! - Jesse
